The cappings wax melter enables an easy separation of honey from the cappings wax using circulating hot air. This method of melting cappings wax is particularly suitable for beekeepers who uncap frames with mechanised uncapping machines or electric knives, since these methods leave more honey in the cappings wax.

The body of the cappings wax melter is insulated and protected by a stainless steel sheet, which reduces heat loss and shortens the melting time. The bottom of the melter is seamless welded and sloped towards the outlet.

The heating element is located in the insulated lid of the unit. The temperature can be set between 30°–90°C using a thermostat. A circulation fan ensures an even temperature throughout the container. The cappings wax begins to melt, the honey flows to the bottom of the vessel, and the melted wax covers the honey, protecting it from overheating.

After the honey has melted, you can drain it after about two hours. Open the drain valve and let the honey flow through a strainer into a suitable bucket or container. Remove the cooled wax layer for further processing once the wax has completely hardened.

All parts of the cappings wax melter that come into contact with honey are made from food-grade materials.

APPLICATION

Based on evenly distributed hot air circulation above the stainless steel ring, the cappings wax melter allows:
- easy separation of honey from the cappings wax,
- melting of frames with melezitose honey or crystallized honey – you can place whole frames into the unit without cutting them,
- warming honey in jars, buckets and smaller containers.

The HMF value (hydroxymethylfurfural) of the honey does not change significantly.

The melezitose and cappings wax melter can substantially improve the efficiency of your honey harvest and make the work easier. The melter is suitable for both hobbyists and professional beekeepers.

- Crossbar with spike (Art. 8046) – for uncapping frames with a knife, working height = 98 cm
- Two-sided uncapping stand (Art. 8045) – for uncapping with an uncapping fork, working height = 104 cm
- Heating jacket for decrystallization Ø 63 cm, height 95 cm, made from galvanized sheet (Art. 329509) – for decrystallization and warming honey in larger containers (max. outer Ø 52 cm, max. height = 80 cm).
- Frame rack and drip tray (Art. 329502) – in combination with the fitted crossbar with spike or uncapping stand allows quick, hygienic uncapping in a small area (up to 10 frames).
- Lid with gasket Ø 63 cm for 3295 with handles (Art. 329505) – with a matching hole for the steam generator hose the melter can be converted into a steam melter to melt old combs.
- Timer (Art. 329514) – simply plug it in and select the desired operating time. The unit switches off automatically when the time elapses.
