The wax melter is designed both for melting old combs and for disinfecting. Melting with steam is simple and effective. Pour water into the wax melter, place the frames in the perforated comb basket and bring the water to a simmer with a gas burner. The boiling water produces steam that rises into the perforated basket and melts the combs. The clean wax passes through the perforated basket floor and flows via the outlet pipe into an external container, while the debris remain in the perforated comb basket. During this process the frames are cleaned and disinfected. One melting cycle takes approx. 60 minutes. Uncapping wax can also be melted in the wax melter.

Ensure that the bottom of the wax melter is always covered with water; this can be checked at the inlet pipe.

To heat the water in the wax melter a gas burner is used, which we place under the melter. Solid fuels can also be used. The gas burner is not included.

The outer container of the wax melter can also be used to disinfect beekeeping tools, equipment, hive boxes and frames. For this purpose the wax outlet pipe (3/4") must be closed with a blind plug.

The wax melter is made of stainless materials W. Nr. 1.4301.

The Logar steam wax melter is especially suitable for beekeepers who want to efficiently process old combs while ensuring disinfection and easy handling. Steam gently cleans the frames and the wax is collected separately from the debris.
