Description
Suitable for: 4–6-frame tangential (self-reversing) extractors and 9-frame radial extractors.
The under-extractor strainer can with a sieve that does not clog!
With a 4- to 6-frame self-reversing tangential extractor or a 9-frame radial extractor you can normally work for a whole day before the fine sieve needs cleaning.
The under-extractor strainer can is primarily intended for straining during honey extraction. It has two welded pinch-off taps that cut the honey cleanly. The upper pinch-off tap is used to discharge the strained honey into a lower container. The lower pinch-off tap is used to empty the can. Inside the under-extractor strainer can there is a fine sieve made from high-quality mesh cloth that ensures a high honey throughput. The can is designed for food contact.
The additional coarse sieve with holder enables the following:
- With the coarse sieve you trap the larger wax particles so they do not enter the under-extractor strainer can.
- Wax particles caught this way are easier to remove from the additional coarse sieve than if you had to skim them off the surface of the strainer can where they would otherwise accumulate.
- The combination of the coarse sieve and the under-extractor strainer can has proven to be the best combination for cleaning honey during extraction, which is why we highly recommend it. With this combination you obtain completely clean honey.
Dimensions
Capacity: 30 kg- Height: 37 cm
- Height to upper pinch-off tap: 28 cm
- Diameter of fine sieve: 30.5 cm
- Height of fine sieve: 34 cm
- Sieve area: 0.29 m2
- Mesh size: 1 mm
- Diameter of coarse sieve: 24 cm
Advantages
Very large sieve area: 0.29 m2- The sieve is made of high-quality mesh cloth that provides a high honey throughput.
- Enables complete cleaning of the honey. Optimal when used together with the coarse honey sieve.
- The sieve does not clog even during all-day straining. With a 4- to 6-frame self-reversing tangential extractor or a 9-frame radial extractor you can normally work for a whole day before the sieve needs cleaning.
Dual function
- Straining the honey during honey extraction and
- Filling jars with honey — the pinch-off tap cuts the flow cleanly.
Usage
- The under-extractor strainer can is placed directly under the outlet tap of the honey extractor. During the straining process the lower pinch-off tap of the under-extractor strainer can must be closed.
- The honey then flows continuously from the extractor into the under-extractor strainer can through the sieve. The honey level rises up to the upper pinch-off tap and then flows through the upper pinch-off tap into a receiving bucket/pail. A filled under-extractor strainer can ensures continuous straining.
- With the additional coarse sieve you catch the larger wax particles so they do not enter the under-extractor strainer can.
Because of the high weight of the honey and the large area of the inner sieve, remaining wax, debris and pollen residues clog this sieve only very slowly from top to bottom in this under-extractor strainer can.- The remaining wax, debris and pollen residues rise to the surface and can be easily skimmed off with the coarse sieve.
- At the end the under-extractor strainer can is emptied via the lower pinch-off tap.
Cleaning
- To clean, lift the under-extractor strainer can onto a stool.
- Let the strained honey run through the lower pinch-off tap into a bucket.
- Remove the sieve from the can and clean it — best from the outside with a cold water jet or shower.
- When the sieve is dry, put it back in the can and you can continue working.
