Suitable for: old combs, cut-out combs, cappings and blocks of wax, as well as frames containing feed, crystallized honey or pollen. Maximum basket dimensions: Ø 68 × H 51 cm (this corresponds to the basket size), therefore suitable for combs/frames up to about 51 cm in height.

A robust wax centrifuge from Logar that allows fast and efficient melting of old combs, cut-out combs, cappings or wax blocks by centrifugal steaming.

Advantages: Steam centrifugation achieves maximum wax recovery even from very old or heavily soiled combs. The combs do not need to be removed from the frames — they are loaded whole into the basket (the wire remains intact and does not need rewiring). The process also disinfects frames and wax at around 100 °C.

It does not matter whether the combs still contain feed, crystallized honey or pollen: all these substances are melted and separate after cooling. This yields sufficiently clean wax for further processing.

Procedure for wax centrifugation:

• Place as many combs in the basket as will fit. The basket can also be filled with cappings. Place a stainless-steel bucket under the ball valve.
• The tank has a connection for a steam generator (not included). The recommended steam generator power is 6 kW.
• The insulated outer tank reduces heat loss and increases efficiency. The lid has a safety switch that prevents starting when the lid is open.
• Start the centrifuge as soon as the wax begins to melt and flows from the ball valve.
• The automatic controller allows storage of 8 programs; for each program rotation speed, time and program length can be set.
• When no more wax is coming out, stop, replace the combs in the basket and repeat the process. Continuously remove the dry residue from the basket rim with a spatula.

All particles remain in the basket; the skimmed wax is yellow and clean, and the remaining residue is dry and non-sticky (residual wax < 5 %).
